I gained a BA Hons degree from Central St Martins in Fine Art Sculpture. I continued my post graduate studies here and went on to qualify in Adult Education. I  exhibited regularly in London and the surrounding areas. On moving to the Cotswolds, with its rich history of the woollen trade, I became interested in using wool and needle felt as a medium for expression.

My work explores the soft textures, subtle blends of the wool combined with bold, bright colours with shimmering light effects. I embrace the soft warmth of the wool, in contrast to the much harder materials I used when making sculpture. I paint with the wool, allowing the layers and textures to evolve and grow in 3D relief.  I love to make art about place, evoking memories, capturing the mood and atmosphere, by experimenting and getting lost in the creative moment, finding my contentment in the making. Ideally the viewer will feel the warmth and joy of this process and recall fond memories and happy times spent with loved ones.

I work from life, sketching and taking photographs to translate into  needle felted  landscapes. I am inspired by the beauty of our natural surroundings, culture and spirituality at home and from adventures across the globe. The autobiographical works have a three dimensional quality, and record my time, in the Cotswolds and travels abroad, encapsulating those special memories.

Commissions can be taken, using your own photographs, I can capture those memorable places forever.
