Autumn tress is a small experimental needle felted piece inspired by my daily walks, looking upwards at the glorious autumn canopy in my local woodland in Stroud. I would walk here everyday during lockdown and sit and sketch. I became more adept at closely observing the changes to the woodland canopy and the floor of the woodland as the seasons changed. This small piece Autumn trees is a celebration of autumns bold colours come to cheer us after the stark winter days are left behind. I loved using the bright wools , rolling them into small balls and felting them abstractly to represent the leaves, a happy piece that I hope makes the viewer smile.
