I loved felting this small piece of Chinese fishing nets in Kochi , Kerala. It measures 20cm x 25cm. During a trip to South India, I took shots of these incredible nets used by the Keralan fishermen. This is the result , a vantage point on the beach looking out to this dynamic scene. The stark lines of the nets contrast with the soft blues and whites in the sky. The sea blends blues and greens, the wooden platform in blended brown tones stands out in this scene. To the left are two figures fishing by hand , sitting on the narrow planks. I hope I captured the dynamic lines of the nets and also the serenity of the scene, depicting an everyday scene in Kochi. It was so nostalgic to felt, remembering happy times in India…..will definitely be returning.
