Fowey found objects is a large piece, I really experimented in this piece, incorporating sea glass and shells found on the beach in Fowey, Cornwall. I decided to abstract the piece splitting the page diagonally to give a sense of beach and sea. The pale lemons and beige sandy coloured wool is used on the beach area where deep blue hues and softer or brighter blues constitute the sea area. I used sea glass to depict sailing boats bobbing along on the sea , crisp white yaks wool creates the surf and waves. There are various textures of wool and silk thread used to convey the joyous experience of beach combing and felting the scene. It was a pleasure to play and felt into this composition, hope you feel that joy as the viewer. Fowey found objects measures framed size 52cmx52cm, actual felted area is 30cmx30cm.
