On a walk I have taken many times, from Ebley to Stonehouse along the canal, I stopped to take some shots of the much photographed church of St Cyrs. For my composition I wanted to include the canal and show a large body of water in the art work.
I was interested in representing the water and the shadows projected on to it, by the church and the tree. My challenge was to recreate the atmosphere of the place on that early evening in February. The starkness of the trees against the pink tinged sky, as the sun went down and the air chilled.
