I painted this one after a wonderful stay in the hills of Andulucia, at a wellness and yoga retreat. Surylilla was set in the most peaceful location perfect for meditation, learning and yoga practice. You could walk for miles in beautiful unspoilt countryside with abundance of wild flowers, insects, livestock. In this piece you can see the remains of an old Fransiscan monastery nestled below the hills. It was an awe inspiring landscape, serene and yet with a mysterious atmosphere. The vine trees encased the whole scene, feeling like I had stepped back in time,to a more simple lifestyle. It was such a wonderful community, I would definitely go back at the drop of a hat, happy days in Andulucia. The piece measures 37cm x 37 cm, the actual felted area is 23cm x 23cm.
