Whilst visiting my son in Paris, I took some night time shots . Here, I have attempted to re-create the effects of the street lighting on the scene. It was a new experience trying to create artificial light in a piece, utilising the wool in a very considered way. The dark figures stand out against the brightly lit shops and road, depicting a typical Parisian night scene. I realised in hindsight, that the two figures of mother and child, are symbolic of my love for my son, and the proudness I felt seeing him living independently aged 22 in Paris for 6 months.
